Charles and Ray Eames probably are the best known furniture designer of the 20th century. Their works, like the lounge chair or the aluminium group and the plastic shell group, are icons of modern design. Decades after their furniture has been designed, it still is as relevant and new as on day one.
The Eames designed the chairs from the plastic shell group in 1948. They were amongst the very first unlined plastic seat furniture to be mass-produced.
