ERATOMIUM is born out of a passion for the history, architecture and design of the 1930s to the 1970s. We are most interested in the period between 1955 and 1970. The memories of the war have faded and the boom in consumption, progress and technology has given rise to cheerful optimism and to the creation of all types of objects embodying the spirit of the times.

The period of ludic modernism is a colourful bubble, free and independent, suspended in time. The unique heritage bequeathed by the era’s protagonists has been recipient of much admiration and awe, but also of criticism and incomprehension. Regardless, it cannot be denied that this period is unparalleled in terms of imagination, creativity and innovation.

We only sell pieces that we would buy ourselves! 

All furniture and objects listed in the categories 1950-59 1960-69 and 1970-1980 are, without exception, original pieces from the period. Moreover, the majority of the pieces exhibit a patina corresponding to their age and use.
